A day after making basketball history, 7-foot-5 Yao Ming worked out with the Chinese national team and pledged one day to best Shaquille O'Neal.

``He is a mountain in my way,'' Yao said, referring to the Los Angeles Lakers' own 7-foot star. ``I will try to conquer it by all means.

``My first tries may turn out to be failures, but I will continue with others.''

ITS GOOD TO SEE CONFINDENCE IN THE YOUNG FELLA. HOWEVER, I FEAR FOR THIS UPCOMING SEASON AS SHAQ WILL PROBABLY BE OUT TO HUMILATE YAO. HOPEFULLY YAO WON'T LOSE HIS CONFIDENCE.

I dont know much about the chinese, but I know this , that They are brought up to have a certain amount of pride and confidence...I believe it was Elenor Roosevelt that said, "Noone can make you feel inferior, without your constent." I would like to think this is the philosphy of the Chinese.

Him being "trained" by the goverment, he would even have more pride and confidence.....I dont think a few elbows and a butt to the floor will deture " The Big Warrior"....
