Don't worry-this is just the start for Bret. For the entire summer and part of the fall, he's going to get metaphysically knocked on his a** every night when he sees his opening band every show and realizes, "Wow, they're way better than us- who the heck scheduled us to follow one of the all-time great bands?"

Eh, I like some of Poison's stuff. I was trying to remember some of their songs: Talk Dirty to Me? OK. Rose Has It's Thorn? Eh. I thought, maybe I should reconsider them. And then I remembered they wrote a song called "Unskinny Bop." So much for the reconsideration.

Man, I'm starting to think that dandorotik is to Cheap Trick as ima is to The Police as Surfguy is to Rush as GoggleRox is to DMB. ;)

We're on a budget this summer, so we can only go to one major concert. I can't decide if it's going to be Cheap Trick or Earth Wind and Fire...

    Totally.

They put on a helluva show!

I like me some Cheap Trick, though.

Absolutely- someone's gotta do it. If the only thing I'm known for here is being the "Cheap Trick" guy, it would be an absolute honor  (even though they are only #7 on my list of all-time favorites after Springsteen, The Who, U2, REM, The Beatles, and Marvin Gaye, all 6 of those artists/groups obviously receive the recognition they deserve. CT does not).

That being said, as much as I love Cheap Trick, man, that's a tough choice. Believe it or not, I'd have to toss a coin on that- I've seen CT at least 10-12 times and have never seen EWF, so I'd probably go to that. Just to hear them do "Let's Groove" and "September," among their many other great songs.

a youtube video of a television screen of a tape delayed performance ought to do that.

what I'm wondering is why Bret Michaels was performing at the Tony Awards?

Ha...I hear you. But I meant that the song sounded identical (guitar and everything, vocals as well) to the album version. Maybe I'm wrong...

    And that's a good question

There's a musical that celebrates 80's hair metal music, don't remember what it's called
