Pretty straight-forward. I know people who rarely go a meal without using ketchup in some application. A buddy of mine goes to school in buffalo, and he's taken to putting hot sauce on everything. Personally, I use Sriracha like most people use ketchup.

So what's your favorite condiment? And how many applications have you found for it?

Condiment is such a technical word for a bit of garnish.

I view most condiments as toppings to enhance the flavor of the main food item.

But when it comes to ranch dressing, the main food item is merely a vehicle by which the dressing is carried to my mouth.

My favorite comedian is Jim Gaffigan. Todd Barry is a close second.

Generally speaking a garnish is intended as a visual enhancement, not really a flavor-booster.

I use soy sauce, lemon juice, and wasabi a lot but that's just because I eat a lot of fish and other seafood.

I rarely put ketchup on anything, though. I usually get my tomatoes fresh or as a sauce, usually on some pasta, or soup stock.

Mayonnaise, I don't get. Maybe because I'm not white.

I voted other, but that's because it's a tie between American-Style Hot Sauce and Ranch. And most of the time, I'll take a combination of the two.

Mustard. It seems most universal, at least to me. We use it on sandwiches but also mix it in on stuff like macaroni and cheese (it's part of a somewhat spicy cheese sauce we do) or egg salad (same deal, we spice up our egg salad just a bit) to a variety of other uses. And there are so many different kinds of mustards.

Depends on the type of food...

for Tacos.. I like to put Taco Bell's FIRE -- nothing else... If I have to.. I'll drive down to Taco Bell to get some packets... I don't use that store "hot" taco sauce...

for Burgers... My favorite is Mayo...... for sure.. Ketchup would be second..

    For hot dogs.. Ketchup..

OVERALL... I'd have to go with Ketchup, I probably use it the most... it's the best condiment ever made.

    Mustard hands down.

A sandwich is not a sandwich with out mustard. You can combine mustard and ketchup to make a delicious steak sauce for dipping.
