    The average age is 12 which was the age of most of the females in my 6th grade class.

    I said I know, but I kind of don't know everything. Since i'm a doctor... I will explain it a little...

    blood builds up inside your uterus waiting for a fertilized egg to come and stick to it, and eventually grow into a baby OR no fertilized egg comes and your uterus lets all the blood go, only to build back up in a month and repeat. So, the best time to get prego is before your period.

    I don't know how birth control works.

    Now, i'm a girl, but all of this could be wrong still.
