With Doc Rocket, Clutch, Oily, Van Chancellor, CD and others pushing for Ming, unless their are international Sabonis like problems, I think Ming is a done deal to houston. As the consumate Flash Gordon fan, Yao is Ming the Merciless and hopefully he has a bit of a nasty streak that most the greats seem to have that separates them and makes them want the ball in their hands at cruntch time! Lets Imagine our stagnant offense with Ming in the middle, how would we change it? Who would the offense run through? How would this alter our defensive strategy. Projected Lineup Next Year: Center: Ming, Cato Griffin Forward: Taylor, Griffin Thomas Forward: Rice Nachbar (barring Out Clauses) Thomas Morris Guard: Mobley Francis Guard: Francis Moocher I feel with Eddie's strength and Maturity he will take the starting 4-spot by the All Star break. Yao, Eddie, Rice, Mobley and Francis and all shoot the ball from anywhere on the floor, imagine the Mismatches and spacing created from this type of offense. Defensively, I could see a San Antonio type defense that funnels cutters and slashers in towards our Griffin/Ming defensive monster. Add a frontline of Griffin/Ming/Thomas and you funnel them inside and Francis and Mobley can stread downcourt for the Fastbreak, instead of worrying about Rebounding. Francis and Mobley could pentrate and kick if they are doubled, of course Mobley needs to practice that little skill called passing this summer. Imagine the lobs that are going to be thrown next year to Ming, who allegedly has very good hands, hence his shooting, rebounding and passing figures. SOO EXCITED!!!!
Good post, Khan. Maybe for beginners it will just be a repeat of the Hakeem offense. Pass it into Ming who demands the double team. He then kicks it out to the three point shooters. This certainly needs little practice. Fast breaks after blocked shots and steals. Imagine! Rebuilding completed. Only three lottery years. Only one deep lottery year. We got arguably three of the top 10 players in the last 4 years. Francis, Griffin and Ming, all of whom could have been number ones. Unbelievable.
