    Yeah, that was pretty funny, but he must have been joking because he is a professional athlete and im sure he know what an underdog is. ;)

    No he wasnt joking, he actually didnt know,
    I just read that chron article where he gave someone a wierd look for asking if he felt like an underdog.

    Wasn't underdog a cartoon before it became a sports term to mean the unfavored team?

    If you would have asked me back in the 70s when I was a toddler what an underdog was, then I would have said "flying dog superhero".

    It would have been funny if Yao said it was a cartoon, too.

    In China we say "Black horse" instead

    meaning "underdog that has managed an upset"

    yeah. he wasnt joking. it was in the chronicle on sunday i think. it had to be explained to him. i think the media thought he was joking though, which is why they laughed so hard.
