Drudge is also reporting that, "Attorney General Ashcroft and FBI Director Mueller were told a few days after the Sept. 11 attacks that the FBI had received a memorandum from its Phoenix office the previous July that Osama bin Laden's followers could be training at American flight schools -- but neither Ashcroft nor Mueller briefed President Bush and his national security staff until recently, the NY TIMES reports in Tuesday runs! The paper is planning to lead Tuesday editions with the 1,000+-word exclusive being filed by the paper's Don Van Natta Jr and David Johnston, sources tell DRUDGE... "The memo urged FBI officials to check the visas of foreigners at American aviation academies. But no action was taken before Sept. 11"... be safe and alert people....
How is it were supposed to be safe and alert exactly? I'm going to assume like I always have that if I see an Arab Muslim man walking around...that he is a regular American or person just like I am unless he's wearing an overcoat in 85+ degree weather. I can tell you that if suicide walk-in bombings do start happening here...that many Americans are going to begin to assume the worst about Arab Muslim men and there will be a strong backlash....worse than 9/11. It then comes down to which Americans are going to keep their faith and trust regardless versus those who will react strongly and negatively to such attacks. I think we all know that there will always be a segment of the American population who will react negatively. We saw it post 9/11 and we will see it again if suicide bombings come to America. The fact is America stands for freedom and if suicide bombing Arab Muslim men infect our streets...there are going to be people who will not stand for it and retaliate. The situation in the ME is different...the dispute is over land that Palestinians and Israelis see as rightfully theirs. There is no such dispute here so we are not going to be able to put up with it like Israelis do. We are not going to accept the idea that suicide bombings are a part of American life now. I have a great fear of what will happen if suicide bombings happen...for all the people. Lest we forget what happened after Pearl Harbor when Japanese Americans were rounded up and put in camps. Most of the population...including our government... agreed with that move then. We've come a long way since then and that is something we do not want to repeat. However, there are going to be those who will do something if it is perceived the government is not doing enough. If suicide bombing does become the norm here, then I am definitely buying me a firearm whereas I was completely opposed to it before. Surf
