    The wait is over......

You both will be pleased to know that I finally purchased a damn car. 2002 Nissan Altima.

Major- Thanks for the advice on the whole internet purchase thingy. I ended up getting a great deal at Grubbs Nissan in Bedford, TX (btwn Dallas and Fort Worth). $16,995 plus TTL with all the features that I wanted on it. It was easy as hell and I didnt have to deal with the haggling BS at all, which was really nice. I just drove up there, signed a few papers, got my financing set up and I was out in about 30 minutes.

We are long overdue for Aussie Astros gathering........

That's where I bought my 2002 Altima back in February. Essentially the same experience for me as far as the ease in getting the deal done.

speaking of cars, does anyone know the name of the car denzel drove in the movie 'training day'? its just so sexy. and the bumping action of the car, does it have any useful purposes?

    Hey Drew,

My mom got a 2002 Altima around 8 months ago. and she loves it. The car is a quiet ride. but most importantly it should be reliable for a long time.

Excellent. Did you do all your haggling on the internet before going in to the dealer? Looks like you got a very good deal, what type of options did you get?

Did all of the haggling (basically he gave me his best price) over the internet. I never even spoke to the guy in person until I walked into the dealership yesterday.

I got the black 2.5 S model which includes power everything, CD player, in-cabin microfilter (whatever the hell that is) and floormats. I didnt really care about the sunroof, 8 way adjustable seat, splash guards and the chrome wheels (I dont know why that is such a big feature for people).

I got the 5 speed and all I have to say is that 4 cylinder gets up and goes (175 hp) with torque to spare.

The only thing I am going to have to add is a window tint, because its summer and the car is black..........

Its almost too good to be true isnt it? Imagine walking into a new car dealership and actually being treated like a human being. Now that is a revolutionary concept!! :D

Congrats! Definitely will have to do a Aussie's thing this coming week sometime. I'm game for any day pretty much.. RM95 is on vacation right now but will be back Sunday night.

I just drove up there, signed a few papers, got my financing set up and I was out in about 30 minutes.

That's how it worked for me too -- it's amazing how nice the internet way is. I'm not planning on buying "the normal way" again!
