Cute Kiddie Things

    My mom is coming for a visit (the first here in 5+ years) so I have been thinking about my childhood. What are some cute/funny/hilarious/embarassing things about <b>your</b> childhood?

    My given name is Richard, but as a kid I was called "Dick." My first day of kindergarten somebody was kidding me about my calling name. I found out what "the issue" was and went home with great resolve to change my name to the more formal version. I remember sitting on the washing machine talking to my mother after school that day. I told her that if anyone else called me Dick "I am going to punch them in the stomach!"

    I also remember having a tough time with certain words. My favorite is my effort at "air conditioner" which somehow came out as <b>airshunkedunner</b> for a good long time I'm told.

    giddyup, IMO your question/post might be a bit too personal for a message board like this...
    stories like this are probably reserved for family and significant others...
    my guess is that we're that significant or that close?! :eek:

    I remember when in kindergarten the girl I liked wouldnt play with me or something like that, and so when I told my mom why i was sad or crying or whatever, I told her i didnt have a girlfriend any more, and she said she would be my girlfriend. I of cource said no way, and im sure by the next day I was back to playing kissing tag with one of the other girls.

    but it was a sweet gesture by my mom that I for some reason remember.

    so lighten up people

    <b>rockHEAD</b>: I don't really see a problem but the lack of interest in the topic obviously indicates one I had not envisioned. I just don't get it.

    The thread about Sexual Fantasies had a nice run; I wouldn't go near that one for exactly the supposition you've made...:)

    Although I do have plenty to say.

    Sometimes this place is more about doing a belly flop than swimming laps, you know.
