its not free, but seriously the best malware program out there. There's a 30 day trial on it, and it removes every trojan and malware product out on the net. I've been in professional IT for a while, and this product got rid of some nasty stuff that avast, avg, mcafee, and norton couldn't. It's 10x better than adaware, spybot, and stinger imo. While we are on the subject, what antivirus/antispyware takes up the least amount of CPU? I have an almost 7 year old laptop that needs as much CPU available as possible. There are some programs that are running full time to monitor the computers' behavior- it may be effective, but can contribute to slowdown.

Another question- is the standard Windows Firewall on XP faster than ZoneAlarm? ZA can take a decent chunk of CPU time when there's network intensive stuff going on.

 

For another malware program download Windows Defender. It's free from Microsoft so its about as reliable and trustworthy as you can get.

 

Anyone know how to get rid of this crap? (all the random lettered and numbered .exe files.)

--I already have Malwarebytes and Trojan Remover...yet every time I restart the computer, alas, all this crap slows down my computer and I have to spam delete on them.
