Being an alltel customer, I was afraid of what they were going to do with the existing plans. With the rollout of LTE (the next generation for both CDMA and GSM that combines voice and data on the same channel and superior speeds) we should see better phones across the board and sim chips inside VZW phones.

Going forward, the key is for Verizon and AT&T to feel heat from other competitors because prices will go up (or end up being higher than they would have) for consumers.

Go Sprint! Go T-Mobile! Go G-phone! Go WiMax! Go whatever else that will compel the big two to compete on price. We cannot have a strong duopoly take control.
