I wanted to create a list of above average athletes who choked in big games, and thus consider their careers afterward. Was there an effect? Please add to the list.

use down to indicate he got worse
use up to indicate he got better
use same to indicate he's no different

    Mitch Williams - down
    Nick Anderson - down
    Scott Norwood - down

I also wanted to create a list of those individuals who choked in the media and see what general effect there has been on their game.

    John Rocker - down
    Mike Tyson - down
    Bonds - Up
    Barkley - Same
    Francis - Up

Do you blame Moon for the 1993 Buffalo game??? He gave the team a 25 point lead going into halftime...that should have been enough!!!

What about golf. You rarely see people choke like they do in golf.

    The Shark - down
John Daly (I can't remember if he ever chocked per se, but Im sure he has) - down

    Michelle Kwan - Same???

The guy who was riding in that car with Jeff Alm was choking on SOMETHING...

    uhhh...or so I've heard

And I think that Chris Webber's $120 million contract might be a slight indication of "better", at least compared to what he was getting paid in college :)

I never considered Barkley a choker. He put up big numbers in the playoffs, especially in Game 7, and just never won a championship, he won a lot of Game 7s. I'm assuming that's Steve Francis, how can he be a choker if he hasn't played in a big game yet? I think a choker is somebody who can't hit big shots or make big plays when his team needs it. Moon and Barkley did that, but the rest of the team didn't. And how is Bonds suddenly not a choker? Personally I don't think he's one, but he got that label for not hitting in the postseason, but he hits 73 homeruns in the regular season and people take the label off of him.

Millenium. You missed the point. Those guys choked in the media. I'm looking at that too even tho nobody has added to the list. ie. Alberte Belle.

Actually Barkley did choke in the '95 playoffs against the Houston Rockets. If he hits his free throws in game 6, the Suns win that series.
