This list is incorrect; it doesn't have Powerball on it.

    :p

    1. Super Mario Bros. - really, a timeless classic. Not sure if there is a better pure platformer.
    2. Zelda II - I never understood how this became the b*stard son of the Zelda series. Huge game, tight controls, perfect atmosphere. Very underrated.
    3. Punch Out! - perfect pick up and play game.
    4. Ninja ****ing Gaiden - difficult game, but never cheap.
    5. TMNT II - heaven for a young Ninja Turtles fan
    6. Batman - underrated. loved all the wall-jumping.
    7. Mega Man II - addictive
    8. Super Mario Bros. 2 - again, never understood why so many people disliked it. Fun deviation from the original formula.
    9. Metroid - amazing for its time
    10. Zelda - ditto

You should play around with it a little more. The game has some brilliant level design - if know which power ups to hit and when, any level can be run through.

Could not agree more with these selections. Super Mario 2 was possibly my favorite in the NES series (yes, ahead of SMB3), and Zelda II (a.k.a "A Link to the Past") was awesome. I just wish it had a save-game feature.
I preferred Ninja Gaiden 2, but still a good choice.

I would add "Adventures of Lolo". Such a simple game, but if you liked puzzlers, it was a GREAT one.
