About two months ago I had my teeth whitened (bleached) and the total cost of the procedure was $700+ but I have to admit I was very impressed with the results because those whitening toothpastes never worked for me. A friend of mine was also impressed but less impressed with the price tag. They want to try an over-the-counter product or kit besides whitening toothpaste. I have never tried any OTC products besides the toothpastes, I have heard of several but I have heard some good things about Crest WhiteStrips. Do any of you posters have any products or kits which you would like to recommend?

    Lil,

How long did the whitening take? I have been thinking about doing it too, and the price seems very reasonable.

    What all did it entail?

    Thanks,

    Have you tried Clorox?

Seriously, I've heard good things about Crest White Strips as well.

Well I had two options: gel-filled tooth trays ($195) and it takes about two weeks or laser treatment ($759) and it's all done in one day. I picked the laser treatment. The procedure was rather simple, the dentists just examined my teeth, covered them with some sort of gel and then shot them with the laser...that was it. It lasted about an hour and a half. Another thing that was good though was if I didn't want to pay the whole $759 there was a payment option of about $60 a month but I opted to pay it all at once. Hope this helps.

I dont suspose your insurance covered any portion of the procedure. Did the laser portion take 90 minutes or the whole treatment? I was just curious to see if you had to sit there with your mouth open for 90 minutes
