After all the threats, slander and lies; What does Mr. Obama do? Releases this ad to run nationally until the election. powerful stuff 1 minute http://thepage.time.com/2008/10/08/obama-goes-for-soft-biographical-sketch-in-new-tv-spot/
This is an excerpt from the biography video they showed at the Democratic National Convention. David Strathairn's voice just speaks with a simple sincerity, especially at the beginning of the whole video: "It is a promise we make to our children, that each of us can make what we want of our lives..." Powerful stuff, indeed. This is exactly how Obama should respond to negativity: he should rise above it, instead of responding in kind as he has been lately. It's what got him the nomination, and it'll get him to the White House.
What good does it do you to say you believe in ______? Even the ______ believe, and they tremble. Actions speak louder than ______.
Well when we have a presidential candidate still proclaiming "who is the real Barack?” it seems the ad is appropriate and necessary. Of course if that same candidate (and his followers) would actually have taken the time to learn something, the ad, as you said, wouldn’t be necessary.
Wait, the guy who wants to de-fund NASA is running an ad with astronauts in it? What do they think of that?
I agree and I'm glad he's running them. A perfect counterpoint to the vicious smears and character assassination being run and promoted by the McCain/Palin campaign, where you have audience members in the crowd at a Palin rally, for example, saying things that should land them in jail (IMO), yet Palin says nothing. Not even after the rally. Yes, the Obama campaign should run a LOT of these, and others of a similar nature.
