    So I'm heading home (Houston) hopefully next week for a quick stop on my way to San Diego. I'm helping a friend drive here from the East Coast.

    Anyway, I have a lady friend thats pretty close to me that I want to take out. I would normally say something like Kemah, but I'm pretty sure its out of commission right now.

    Unfortunately its probably going to be on a Wed or Thur and we won't be able to stay out late.

    The background is she's technically just a friend, but we've been close since we were involved years ago. It doesn't have to be super romantic, but it would be nice to go on a decent date as I haven't been on a real one in some time.

    Anyway feel free to fire off expressions. If I don't get back right away, sorry. I'm about to jump on a plane to Philly.

    In all seriousness, go to Houston's. Women tend to love it, and it's a nice place for either romance or friendship. A little pricey, though.

    Take her to marfreless off west gray and south shepherd. Its a great place to take your friend to drink and to talk. Be sure to check upstairs, they have interesting live shows.

    This is weird.

    My family is doing my sister's birthday dinner tonight and we were originally going to Perry's Steakhouse & Grille. So I call my mom to confirm that I'll be there and she tells me that plans have changed and we're going to Cullens instead. I had never even hard of this place until I read this thread a couple of hours ago.

    I guess I'll have a review after tonight.

    Yes, keep us updated. There is a dress code there. And it's pretty expensive. (Or so I heard)

    I always wanted to go there, but haven't had the chance too. Your review of the place will say if I do go or not. :D

    Wow, I have completely forgotten about that place. GREAT date bar.

    Is the front door still under some stairs on the side of a nondiscript building/stripmall?

    I'm a little fuzzy...I haven't been there (or lived in Houston) since the 80s.
