1 Pau Gasol 2 Tyson Chandler* 3 Eddie Griffin 4 Eddy Curry 5 Jason Richardson 6 Shane Battier 7 Brendan Haywood 8 Kwame Brown 9 Tony Parker 10 Jamaal Tinsely Jordan takes the guy who makes his team even better offensively, and makes himself or Rip the point guard--- though I think he'd go back and try to deal for Brand. I left Chicago's picks alone---a while back I might have thought of picking up griff in place of one of the kids (I won't say which ) Instead he goes to memphis NJ picks up some defense in the middle And Clevelend picks up Kwame who is too big and potentially good to leave on the table. Plus they seem to love underachieving big men JRich goes to the same place and so does good guy shane
1. Pau Gasol 2. Eddie Griffin 3. Shane Battier 4. Brendon Haywood 5. Jason Richardson 6. Tyson Chandler 7. Kwame Brown 8. Tony Parker 9. Richard Jefferson 10. Jamaal Tinsley 11. Vladimir Radmanovic I'm assuming here that 'what we now know' includes the fact that recent trades will be made and gives the option to renige draft day moves etc! The Bulls avoid giving up Brand and select Haywood to get a genuine shot-blocker in there. Clips take Griffin to play at PF Memphis get Battier and what could be the next best thing to Gasol in Chandler Somehow JRich is at 5 again (although this time a drop, not a jump!) Jersey take the project who could certainly help them long term! Somehow Cleveland manage not to take a center and get Parker Detroit gets a tough fighter (I was going to select Kirrilenko here, but just remembered he was drafted years ago!) Tinsley and Radmanovic could easily go before Jefferson here, but probably don't fit Detroit's needs (but don't Detroit need everything??) - they would certainly help Boston out though! I would think Hassell would be very close to being a lottery ppick too!
Brendan Haywood at 4 or 7? Laughable. He had 5 good games and has faded into mediocrity ever since. Tony Parker anywhere near the lottery? See Brendan Haywood. 1. Eddie Griffin 2. Tyson Chandler 3. Pau Gasol 4. Eddy Curry 5. Jason Richardson 6. Kwame Brown 7. Shane Battier 8. Richard Jefferson 9. Vladomir Radmanovic 10. Jamaal Tinsley
1. Gasol 2. Chandler. 3. Griffin 4. Richardson 5. Battier 6. Curry 7. Tinsley 8. Brown 9. Jefferson 10. Radmanovic
1) Pau Gasol 2) Eddie Griffin 3) Tyson Chandler 4) Jamaal Tinsley 5) Jason Richardson 6) Shane Battier 7) Brendan Haywood 8) Eddy Curry 9) Tony Parker 10) Richard Jefferson Pau Gasol would be drafted first since he is the most talented rookie right now. Eddie Griffin would fill the Clippers' need at power forward, since Elton Brand would not be there. The Hawks would pick Tyson Chandler to fill their gap at power forward, assuming that Shareef-Abdur Rahim is not there. The Bulls would solidify the point guard position with Jamaal Tinsley. Jason Richardson and Shane Battier would stay on their current teams. The Nets would pick Brendan Haywood to add depth to their frontcourt. The Cavaliers would get Eddy Curry, a talented big man with good potential. Tony Parker would be drafted by the Pistons since they really need a solid point guard. Richard Jefferson would be a good fit for the Celtics, since he could give the them a third scoring option.
Brendan Haywood: averaging 2ppg and 2rpg over the past three months. Does that warrant 7th pick status? Please guys....at least keep it realistic! He's playing as well as DeSagana Diop right now - and that's horribly. Kandi torched him for soemthing like 22 and 8 tonight, all while barely even denting the statboard.
Over the talent left? Sorry...we're rebuilding. No way that would happen. We'd do Curry again...or Bat.

...coming from the man who picks Griffin and Chandler ahead of Gasol..... Even if Haywood is playing horribly right now, he still has that shot-blocking ability and latent *ability* - I picked him at 7 because I assumed the Bulls stuck with Brand - obviously Curry and Brand can't go together, there was dire need of an athletic shot-blocker, and so Haywood is the obvious choice. Sure he's playing pretty poorly now, but so is Tinsley!
Problem is we only know a little bit more now than we did before the draft. We know Gasol is the best rookie, but who is the best investment? I don't think we can say that Washington shouldn't have taken Kwame Brown when he may well be the biggest stud in a few years. How about the top-10 from 2000? Here's the list: 1 Martin 2 Swift 3 Miles 4 Fizer 5 Miller 6 Johnson 7 Mihm 8 Crawford 9 Pryzbilla 10 Dooling 11 Moiso 12 Thomas 13 Alexander 14 Cleaves 15 Collier 16 Turkoglu 17 Mason 18 Richardson 19 Magloire 20 Claxton 21 Peterson 22 Harvey 23 Stevenson 24 Bagaric 25 Tskalidis 26 N'Diaye 27 Brezec 28 Barkley 29 Madsen Top-10: 1 Martin 2 Miles 3 Miller 4 Fizer 5 Swift 6 Turkoglu 7 Mason 8 Richardson 9 Johnson 10 Peterson
Let's see....Griffin has had a nice rookie season himself and arguably has the most upside of all of the players in the draft, including Gasol. Putting him at #1 is not a stretch by any means. Remember - knowing what we know now includes performance to date plus future performance. Haywood has neither. He's had a week of good games in his entire NBA career and can hardly break the rotation of crappy post players in Washington. He has shown no flashes of being anything but a poor man's Kelvin Cato, personality and all. Is that worthy of going #7? Hardly. Tinsley, while I hate him, has had a pretty good season thus far and is breaking out of his one-two week slump. Chandler is the player that likely would've fit the Clippers the best, assuming no trades. He has shown flashes of potential when given playing time this year, and will likely be a better player in the NBA than Gasol will, in time.
