    This might be D & D fodder but I wonder how much of the $40 Billion the PRC spent on the Olympics came from hard currency from trade with the US? I wouldn't be surpised if the US actually paid quite a bit into this Olympics.

    China spent 40+ billion on this and I don't really doubt it -- to call this a spectacle is an understatement. Will there be more performances after the athletes mingle or is this it ?

    consider that millions of Chinese worked for nothing in the last couple of years due to US lowering dollar value, i think it's only fair. :D seriously, poor Chinese worked for nothing over night.
