Since there are some with the system and who have had RROD problems before I thought I would ask here. A friend of mine had a RROD problem and sent his system in to get it fixed. He received it back yesterday and it is working OK except for one thing, it is no longer backwards compatible meaning he cannot play regular XBOX games. He had this feature before the repair, how can he get it back?
probably just needs to update it, he can d/l the .iso file and burn it on a disc, put it in his system and it'll install the update is the best way to go, here are your other options: http://www.xbox.com/en-US/games/backwardscompatibility.htm
He probably didn't get the same 360 back. I know that they didn't send me back the one I sent to them when I got the RROD.
Actually, the 80GB PS3s (and the 60GB PS3s in Europe) do get improvements to their BC with firmware updates (early 60GB and 20GB models may have gotten some minor fixes too, can't remember). Unfortunately, they haven't put out any updates yet that could help the 40GB PS3.
Ok sorry to the OP because I have no helpful suggestions.....And i need to jack this thread for a minute
because its already an xbox 360 problem thread I have to ask:
Does anyone have one of those free 1 month trial live card??? Because i tried putting my credit card info in to renew my live account and it wouldn't let me... I would rather use one of those trial cards right now than wasting 20 dollars only to find out that it isn't accepting my activation codes either..
I know I know i should contact tech support, but i will do that if the Point Card method fails...
he has to stick the old games back in and it will download the patch, that's if that game's on the backwards compatible list.
