I was watching some of the testimony of Sherron Watkins during the Enron hearings and I got to wondering. How will it effect women in the corporate workplace (especially higher ups) now that she has been essentially the only exec at Enron to come forward and tell all?

I remember reading in the Houston Chronicle last year that since the state of Texas has passed the Whistleblower Law making it illegal for companies to retaliate against whistleblowers that those that came forward were most often women.

I don't really know why or how it effects them specifically. I'm just wondering what everyone thought about this phenomenna. Does this represent a tendency in women to "do the right thing" or are there just more women in a position to come forward with testimony?

    Thoughts?

My impression is that women are not part of the good old boy group within an organization and it is easier for them to come forward because of that.
