HASTY GENERALIZATION QUESTION: Are all peeps with Lexuses (or is it Lexi?) this arrogant, condescending, prepotent and rude :( ? Geez.

Dude. Are you trying to sound rude? Congratulations if so.

Anyway... I searched for something that would tell me my MPG (I have never done the manual calculation and my car doesn't have the MPG-meter), and this here page says I should get 36 MPG. Pretty cool, but I doubt I do.

But I posted it with a big smile on my face. Does that count for something?

I get about 19 MPG, with 70% of that highway miles. I should be over 20 MPG, but I tend to have a lead foot when I drive. Thank God I don't have to pay for premium gas...

    me - 06 Mitsubishi Endeavor - between 17-20 mpg/city

wife - 02 PT Cruiser - about the same. These get terrible mpg considering their size. Should be much better than it is.

Just because grummet isn't prole like the rest of you, doesn't mean you have to be an ass to him.

^^ "I don't think so, Tim. " <- signature quote from a sitcom character. Name that character. (difficulty: easy)

You need it on the message... that way people will know you're not being a smart-ass or upset... :p

So everybody else is prole because we notice the higher gas prices? Yeah I doubt it. I think the dude was trying to impress us with the big car payments he likely has.

I wish I didn't care about mpg, but it is just reality. It keeps going up and up and nothing is done to keep it stable. I honestly don't know what else I can do at the moment, but ride my motorcycle as much as possible.

I know that there are some that could care less, but I bet most do.

    Good for you.

I kept waiting for someone to post about it, but does anyone drive a Mazda3? With increased travel commitments recently, often with pasengers, I need a compact sedan, and based on looks/prejudices, I think I like the Mazda3 best, but I don't know anyone with one. If so, how do you like it, and how good of mileage do you really get? If I get one, I'll get a pretty basic version with the smaller engine, and probably a 2-year-old version.

    Me: 01 Honda Civic - 33 mpg
Wife: 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee 17 mpg

My wife only drives about 10 miles a day, so the poor mpg is not really that big of an expense. The Civic gets good mileage.

I've never understood sinking a lot of money in an asset that depreciates so quickly, when I could spend my money on an asset that appreciates (house). I really don't mind driving the same car I bought right out of college. I spend like 1 hour/day in the car, alone driving to/from work.

Not that my house will be on MTV Cribs, but its a lot nicer than some of my friends who spend $550/month on the souped up Toyota (Lexus).

Wow you must be the only one here who can afford such rare, fancy, cars! We are all very, very impressed.

    I, on the other hand...
