    the sause!

But really, I haven't had anything I didn't like there. I usually get 1/4 lb. cutters choice brisket, a half link of sausage, potato salad, and cole slaw. When I want something a little different I go with turkey and beans.

    And lots of sause.

Yeah, it's great food. You just need a lot of patience when you go there.

Swinging Door out in Richmond. THAT'S bbq fellas.

Though I loved it when Luther's would come to UH on Tuesdays and I'd get my Chopped Baker fix without having to leave campus.

I always liked Blake's BBQ on Jeanetta. Cheap and always delivered the goods. Goode Co. is OK.

I can't say there's one place in Houston that I consider the undisputed champion, but there are some worthy contenders. It seems like the small town joints in the surrounding areas are the best ones.

BTW, isn't there a law against open fire smoking in the city? I swore I heard that before.

Growing up Angleton we always had Bo's BBQ, place is old and has that cowboy decor that has not changed in 30 years. Still got a place i my heart and stomach.

If Sealy is close enough, Hinze's in Sealy. Otherwise, Thelma's.

Is it worth it? Thelma's is pretty close to me and I always like trying new BBQ, but the review I've read on-line all say the food is great but the service is just HORRIBLE. I'm usually not a difficult customer but some of the things I've read make it seem like the owner is nuts and that the service makes it not worth going.

Sounds like the Soup Nazi on Seinfeld! I was partial to Brother-in-Law's BBQ in North Shore.

Wasn't that only for like a year, when they closed Harlon's to build the new Chili's?

Harlon's food was nothing special (smoked turkey aside), but the cheap pitchers made it worthwhile

Just don't order food while you're on your cell phone and you'll be ok.
