Ok so my macbook has been acting pretty weird lately the last couple of days when I go on Safari. It would open up the web browser and all but as soon as I try to put in a url address it would often freeze on me and I have to force quit and restart the damn thing. Sometimes it would let me browse around for like 5 minutes and then it will decide to freeze on me which then I have to restart. I have tried using fire fox but the same thing happens. Can anyone shed some help with this?

Is there any similarities in the sites it freezes on?

What Mac OS are you running?

Maybe you need the latest java and/or flash drivers.

I've worked on Macs for years, own an iMac and Macbook at home and I've never experiened this. Once in a blue moon a site will crash my browser, but no where to the extent you are talking about.

i just had this, and i think i fixed it with a hard restart - resets the p-ram i think - hold the start button for fifteen seconds, it will make some ungodly beep and restart. I think mine is fixed.

I wonder what happened. It has something to do with flash, i think, any page with flash crashes the browser.
