Yao can't be replaced, that is a boat load of points, rebounds, and blocks. And just his presence is a huge defensive asset. However, the game will likely speed up. Scoring may go up. I say go for it, all out. Let's see what happens. The Rockets have to shoot the three and the mid-range jumper well because the inside game is not going to be what it was. I really think Scola and Landry are the keys to what happens.

I think we necessarily have to do both. I'm happy that Scola, Landry and Novak will get more playing time. Knowing we will find out more about these guys over a bigger sample is comforting.

A lot more so than the fact that we get to pick up a player that probably wont help us. And what position would we go after? I have no clue! It's not like we're paper thin anymore.

I hope Yao comes back during the playoffs.

This team should continue to play. Even with Yao out, going .500 isn't impossible, putting us at 49 wins, most likely enough for a playoff spot. Playoff experience is critical for young players, and Yao's injury gives us a chance to try them all out (even Green). I feel that without Yao, this team will rally and pick it up another notch. Who knows, we can upset a team in the playoffs. Maybe by then Yao can play a limited role for our team.

This really REALLY hurt. I hurt about it every single class at UH by every professor...The first one was a real shocker. Mark Cuban was shocked too. What hurts more is I think this team can make the playoffs without Yao, but we won't advance.

And if you get a player like Tim Duncan, then you lose like there's no tomorrow, but I don't think this organization will ever do that. Tim Duncan is the best power froward ever, and I doubt another will come along.

    I vote keep winning.

I prefer trying our best for several games. Then, we can determine what to do. At such a moment, with such a mood, people might make wrong decision. How Scola will do is the key, I think.

No doubt..I think Scola will contribute 18 and 8 with Yao out at least.

I love it when old school Rockets fans (i.e. fans that relished Hakeem) talk about how tanking is for the Spurs. :)

I don't want us to tank, but if we go lotto and miss the playoffs I won't be too crushed. The suck part is that there is no way we can catch those Eastern scrub teams, so it's best to get the young guys some playoff experience.

I can't see us getting past the 1st round either way, unless T-Mac goes retro (i.e. Orlando version) and Mutombo hits up Clemens secret stash. Oops, I mean Debbie Clemens. ;)
