I have this card. The rewards are good, but the interest rate sucks, so only use it if you plan to pay it off each month.

I use the Chase Leisure rewards for my check card. It cost me $20 a year, but I'm able to build up a ton of points since I use my check card everywhere I go. I will probably end up with about $200 cash back by the end of the year.

The best reward you can give yourself is to NOT use credit cards.

OK, I am sort of kidding. I realize there are some good uses for them. I always loved my AA Visa, which game me AA Advantage miles. But now that I don't travel as much, I got nothin'.

What does that offer? I did not see it at the chase site?

Oh, I will not carry balance on the reward card.

I have the amazon card. It's great if you buy from amazon a lot using the amazon card.

That is my favorite as well. Only downside is you have to carry a visa/mastercard for the places that don't accept Amex (which are not very common).

Can you explain a little more about their rewards program? I know pretty much the standard is 1% so $1 per $100 spent..is there anything that kind of seperates from that standard by giving a little more? I'm looking for a new rewards card myself, and leaning towards AMEX.

You get 1 point for every dollar spent. However, you only earn points on balances you pay off on time(EG-charge $400, pay $300 = 300 points)

You can buy almost anything with your points, but obviously it takes a lot of points. In regards to airline tickets, it's usually 100 points for $1 off a ticket.

As far as other cards go, you might want to check out current deals because a lot of them offer a certain amount of points for just signing up. I seem to recall getting some offers recently that were giving you up to 8,000 points for signing up.
