Francis update Rockets guard Steve Francis on Friday went through his most extensive workout so far in his rehabilitation from his plantar fascia injury. The Rockets hope Francis, who has been out since Nov. 27, can return in time for their game Dec. 28 at Golden State. "I'm in good condition as far as coming back from my injury is concerned," Francis said. "On-the-court conditioning, I'm not there yet. It's going to take a while. It feels pretty good. It's all about conditioning, getting into game shape and just playing basketball, getting some reps and going against guys instead of going against myself." Francis missed the first game of the Rockets' 15-game losing streak and went out in the third quarter of the next game. "It hurts me as much as my teammates," Francis said. "It's been encouraging in a way to know we're right there. We've been in the games almost every game. Last night is a good indication we can play with the best of them regardless of what people we have out there. We haven't been able to finish games off." If nothing else, Francis' value to the Rockets has been made clear. The Rockets have lost the past 18 games he has missed this season and last season. "It's not me saying we lost by seven, eight points and I could have had those eight points," Francis said. "I think it's the leadership I can bring to my teammates." http://www.chron.com/cs/CDA/story.hts/sports/bk/bkn/1183471
I predict that Francis will go off for 30+ points, 8 rebounds & 6 assists. What a great team to make your comeback against.
