I typically shop the bargain or greatest hits sections, cheaper games are always good, and I don't need to play something the day it comes out. Though there have being games which were exceptions (NBK 2K8, World of Warcraft and BC, and Fallout 3 when it comes out, etc.).

I also have started to shopping at amazon.com and half.com for used games.

So what type of buyer are you?

Half.com for most of my games. I almost never buy new. If theres something I have to play today, I'll go to gamestop, but you don't save much there on used games.

    Usually familyvideo.com

They have the cheapest prices, always have 5 dollar coupons floating around, and shipping is only $0.99

For a good number of years I tended to only buy older games that were near half-price. Since I usually buy from EB/Gamestop though, I usually buy new, because I'd rather just pay an extra $5 for a new copy than a beat-up one (it would take at least a $10 difference for me to buy used rather than new).

However, since I recently bought my ps3, I've unfortunately found myself buying a bunch of games full-price the day they come out (Rainbow Six: Vegas, FIFA 08, NBA 2K8, Tony Hawk's Proving Grounds, Skate, Madden... and I've pre-paid for Assassin's Creed, naturally). I have more ps3 games I paid full-price for than otherwise, which was far from ever happening on the ps2. Probably because the ps2 always had an endless backlog of great games.

I have noticed that you can often get fairly new games on eBay for damn near half-price... right after I bought my ps3, I got Resistance, Tony Hawk's Project 8, and CoD3 for $90 total. But I mostly just stick to Gamestop. I don't like waiting. When I want a game, I want it now.

I pretty much buy games the same way as everyone here. If I really want a game, I'll buy it new (don't really care where). If I'm lucky, I can maybe get a good deal for a new game. But most of the time, I'll buy a game once it gets a lot cheaper (GH, used, off of eBay, great deal by a retailer, etc.). And that's assuming that I don't think I can get my fill of a game just by renting it.
