Walt Williams is the only ball handler for the Rockets that doesn't pay attention to the 3-point line when he is bringing the ball up the court. Steve, Moochie, and Cuttino all stop well short of the 3-point line when they bring the ball up so they can take a look at the defense (and give it time to set up). I'm actually starting to wish Walt would become a "point forward" for us. They should let him bring it up more than the 2-3 times a game it is happening right now. The Rockets might actually take a shot before the defense established position once in a while if the guards would take the ball a little further in before making the first pass. Maybe the Rockets need an assistant coach that can improve the point guard play.
Your Force Field Theory goes a long way in explaining why the Rockets are 26th of 29 NBA teams in fastbreak points. Then again, maybe I am more agreeable than normal because I was channel surfing between the X-Files & the Mavs @ Kings.
That's a good point about Walt bringing the ball up. I hadn't thought much about how far they stop when bringing the ball up before.
