It's recruiting time of year again which means I need to get a suit. I have been interning with the same company for two years so I didn't have a need to buy one during that time. What is the best place to go to get something nice? Any help is much appreciated.

depends on what you want to spend.

my advice, if you are willing to spend $400 or so, is Jos A Bank. They have 50% off sales all the time and their Signiture Suits are very nice and usually $800-$1000

I wouldn't mind spending up to $300 or so, but anything over that would most likely break my bank.

I would look for sales at Jos A Bank (go to their website) you can get good deals on their Executive Collection

Also, department stores like Macy's have good deals on suits when they have sales

When I first graduated from college I bought a suit from K&G and it literally fell apart within 15 wears

Men's Wearhouse is ok, but the suit will fall apart in less than 6 months probably. Suitmart is really cheap. And their prices are pretty low as well. In all seriousness, a suit from Suitmart or Men's Wearhouse will look just fine and save you a ton of money compared to Jos, but they are made significantly worse and won't last at all.

If he wants to stay under $300 I'm not sure what he can get at Jos is worth going there.

    Macys isn't too bad.

I covered them. You can get a cheap suit for a cheap price at Suitmart.

It seems like I got a really nice suit from Jos a year ago on a really good sale price. The store I bought it from was new, so I don't know if it was part of a opening sale or just a regular sale. The suit seems pretty nice to me, but then again, it was the first suit I'd ever purchased!

Jos is the best place for a Houstonian to get a suit unless he is going into the private selection stores.

Well, they do have tons of 50% off sales (seems like they do monthly). He could get a $600 suit for $300 and have a suit that would last.

The place has great deals all the time, but don't buy unless they have a 50% off sale. they have them ALL the time

Good point. They do have a ton of sales.

You can even grab one of their special suits that comes with a jacket and two pairs of pants for like 299 or something every now and then.

Saks Off Fifth. You aren't going to beat the prices for high quality suits.

True, but the selection is often hit and miss. Worth a shot, though. I enjoy shopping there.

Stay away from suit mart at all costs - they sell you mexican made crap.

I would forge over and extra $300 or so and get something NICE. After all, a well taken care of suit will last a long time and look great.

Check out Brooks Brothers "BrooksEase" suits - very nice, clean, classic look. Trust me.

Also... as others have mentioned - Jos A. Banks is a good choice.
