What began as a faint popping turned into ear ache for Jesse Courtney from Albany in the state of Oregon. Jesse's mother, Diane Courtney, said her son insisted he kept hearing a faint popping in his ear - "like Rice Krispies''. "They were walking on my eardrums,'' Jesse said, according to the Associated Press. Dr David Irvine said it looked like the boy had something in his ear when he examined him. When he irrigated the ear, the first spider came out, dead. The other spider took a second dousing before it emerged, still alive. Both were about the size of a pencil eraser. Jesse has kept the spiders as a souvenir.
I remember my mom told me that my grandma once had a big ass roach in here ear, and it somehow got hold of the eardrum and wouldn't let go. So she went to the doctor and they had to shoot water in her ear and take the roach out in little pieces. SICK!
SPIDERS ON A PLANE!!!!! Seriously, a small roach (not the kind you smoke) crawled into the ear of a friend of mine in Houston during the night, years and years ago. He woke up screaming with pain. If he tried to pull it out, it just dug it's way further into the ear canal. He went to the emergency room, where the ER doctor tried to pull it out with forceps (I think), and he was screaming with pain again. Finally, the Doc has the bright idea to knock the roach out with some anesthetic. Pulls it out and puts it in a jar, just like this kid's spiders. He still has it. True story.
If I found out there were spiders living in my head - in ANY orifice - I think I would probably set my whole body on fire and just hope I survived. If I did, I might feel a little better about continuing on living afterwards...but probably not.
I remember riding on a school bus with my brother who was 8 years younger...I looked over and he had TWO dog ticks latched on to his ear.
