    I...er, uh...a good friend of mine may be in the market for an engagement ring in the next month or so. Oh, F-it, it's me.

    I already know the type of band and type of diamond she wants and I have a general idea how much I'm going to spend.

    To you married guys: Did you buy your ring(s) in Houston and if so, where? Good or bad experience? Anyone ever bought one online?

    Take her to watch Blood Diamond and then propose over dinner with
    a solid clean brushed steel (color) platinum band!

    Thats what I plan on using. The diamond nonsense today is just silly.
    Some jerkoff telling you to spend two months salary or whatever on a
    silly rock thats only so valuable because of limited supply by companies
    to keep the prices high.

    Save the 6-12 grand you plan on spending and make IRA contributions.

    Invest in APPRECIATING assets, not depreciating ones!
