Just thought I'd give a quick shoutout for this book..

An Indian in Cowboy Country by Pradeep Anand

It's a short narrative broken up into a series of short stories. It basically runs through the trials and tribulations of the different aspects of the life of an immigrant from India coming over to the states after undergrad.

It seemed like it would appeal to anyone interested in that kind of story, as well as people who have lived that or are close to others who have lived it. But regardless, there's certainly a "storybook" character to it that allows it to appeal to anyone. All the phrases unique to the culture are explained as they pop up, which is helpful.

And I'm not gonna lie.. it's my uncle's book, so I think you should read other reviews, the synopsis, or maybe see what other people say on here (if anyone has read it) before buying it.

Sounds great. Even though I grew up here (Bangladeshi decent) most of my former engineering coworkers at Dell were from India, several of whom were IIT grads. Now in b-school, there's still a bunch of IIT guys who went through the initial culture shock. I'll recommend this one.
