If a foriegn country came to America and bombed or invaded us? I've always wondered how citizens and military would respond. I know the chances of a military (not terorist) strike or invasion on U.S. soil is very very slim to none but I was just wanting different opinions on how you think citizens and the military would react and would we be ready for that?
It'd be pretty hard for them to "sneak up on us". Besides the Army, Navy, and Air Force, we also have the National Guard, Coast Guard, city Police, county Sheriffs, FBI, SWAT, and guns are legal (for the most part) in this country, so ordinary citizens have access to weapons. Yeah, we're ready.
Depends on the country really... I wouldn't mind being invaded by the Netherlands... Hello Red-Light District...
Yeah, man! Red Dawn all over again! Bring out Patrick Swayze, C. Thomas Howell, and Charlie Sheen! The Russians are coming! The Russians are coming!
Too many people have guns... everyone would be doing drive byes on them. They would be SOL. WOLVERINES!!!!!!!!!!
Apparently the Soviets actually had some invasion plans (just paper exercises) worked out in the '70s, but they could never work out how to deal with the nonmilitary population, and so never took their own plans seriously. In other words, they were more afraid of our armed civilians than they were of our military...
