Damn, you people scare me. I can't believe I'm arguing in this thread, but then I argue just about any stupid thing. :D

Manny, he said $165k is 110% of $150k. He's right. He never said a 110% increase; he said "110% of".

    Huh?

Seriously, you are right DoD. I forgot about the "110% of"; I need to brush up on my percentages. I can see how someone can get confused with this, especially considering I was one of the ones confused.

At my job, I'm used to looking at salaries and calculating what they would be in 5 years using escalation, so I guess that's why I thought of a 110% increase.

Let's make it a rule to never discuss percents and percentages on this BBS Forum again!;)

    What gives?

I just was rechecking the rankings and ESPN changed them. Now we're 9th behind the 6ers. No expanation is given to why we moved down.

In their current state, this is probably a more accurate position for the Rockets. I don't think they belong as "Other Top Contenders", but I do believe they are better than Philly.

When I checked last night, ESPN had us 9th. I was wondering why people were talking about us being 8th.

I think Cato was misquoted. What he REALLY ment was, "Last year I gave 1.0%, this year I'm gonna give 1.1%. "

Someone on the secret email list has forwarded me an email. Apparently oeilpere agrees that $150,000 * 1.1 = $165,000.

No. Since a minus (lower ranking) parameter is at play, the percentage would be 89% of where we were -- an 11 percent loss.:D :D
