Hiking in the Bavarian Alps

    going to germany later this month (flying into munich, out of berlin) and the title says it all. So if anybody hhas any advice in particular on good 2-3 day hiking treks in the german alps let me know.

    I was there over the fall this year and last visting some friends in Garmish-Parkin????. They work for a U.S. military resort but I think some activities can be accessed by civilians. The town's quiant and the trails were very well constructed. Might run into young americans on account of the base.

    I've driven through the alps, but not hiked.

    Pericles is thinking of Garmisch Partenkirchen, and it is a GREAT place to start any journeys in the area.
