Is this really the name of the military operation? Am I the only one who thinks this sounds like a bad Steven Segal movie?

I'm not a big war buff, but I always liked the one's like "Iron Eagle" and "Commando." Oh, wait, those were bad movies too. Nevermind.

    :)

But it's not infinite. That would imply that justice is also provided for the innocents who had nothing to do with this. We're going to kill some of them.

    It's a self-righteous misnomer.

Actually, this might work. Every Steven Seagal movie has a 2 or 3 word title.

Out for Justice. Under Siege. Exit Wounds. Above the Law. Hard to Kill. Marked for Death. On Deadly Ground. The Glimmer Man. Executive Decision.

I liked the sound of Desert Storm (okay... and Desert Shield). Infinite Justice just doesn't do it for me. How about something cool, like Operation Black Sun or Global Enforcer? We need to strike fear in the hearts of bin Laden and Afghanistan. And yes, the name isn't important. It's what we do that is.

    RockHEAD,

That is the funniest thing I've seen in a long time. I feel bad for thinking this is so funny!

haven, imo they're not dillying because they don't have info. They're dillying (imo) b/c they're trying to do it right. They're trying to do it in a way in which few if any civies die.

I believe Bush is a moron (but probably a good proj. mgr). However, I think the US will try to do this one right. Because of the plight of muslim people, as well as the general consensus that we fought Iraq b/c of oil... I'm betting that the administration will be careful to not harm (too many) civilians. If we're going to paint ourselves as better than terrorists, or pretend to have a mandate (and disarm hatred of America) we have to do this right. The administration knows that.

It won't matter... and my home in Salt Lake will be vaporized in a few months :) but I think the administration will try in good faith.

Now if we could do this, walk away from Iraq and tell Israel "have a nice day", I would think people would leave us alone. Until then, we have to tread softly and start acting less arrogant than we have in the past.

I posted my comments on our "multilateralism" elsewhere, but, imo, we haven't commited reprisals because:

    A. we want a large operation, and the infrastructure is not yet in place

    and

    B. we don't have enough international cooperation yet, and are not likely to ever have enough.

Most nations simply don't want a war over something they think could have been avoided.

true... I'm just trying to be an optimist for a little while. :)

btw, did you hear the Russian's reaction to them being part of the military force? LOL. In essence "**** no". Something about how they learned over a 10 year period that bombing in Afghanistan doesn't do anything. You have to put people on the ground... and then your people get slaughtered.

*sigh*. This isn't going to be the hardy har har the Persian Gulf war proved to be.

I haven't seen a fight at school yet this year, but I think a DoD-gr81 match would more than make up for that.....
