check out the pacesetter its about Carl Fisher i read it while doing some personal intrest research into the development of montauk point(where i was working for a while) this man basicly invented headlights built the first trans continental highway(interstate 80) and the dixie highway (interstate 95) built the indianapolous sweedway and started indy 500 turned some marsh land and mangrove swamps into miami beach and biscane bay he actually built the entire city and turned the cow pastures fo montauk into a resort town(kinda failed at what he wanted, because of the depression(wanted to build a port city) check it out and let me know of other interesting reads happy weekend
