I see this as an equal trade. We trade 2 worthless players to LA for 2 of their worthless players. It's a fair deal for both teams. It works under the trade checker. The plus is that we get rid of Juwan's ugly contract. We also create a roster spot, assuming McKie retires due to injury.

    Thoughts?

Why would the Lakers do this though? I don't mind. Mihm might be a little better than Juwan, and can play the 5.

Didnt Mckie just go down with back spasms? I thought Mihm was coming off major surgery as well. I'd pass.

Heck yeah I would take this deal and run and never look back.

    Two expiring contracts for Juwan.

Man definately. I don't see why any of yall wouldn't take this deal.

They are what we call, "the exception".

Anyways, I'm assuming you know I was talking to the board in general.

It's a no brainer on our end......if Mihm is healthy enough to play and contribute backing up Yao. We get a decent backup 5, expiring contract, cut Aaron and walk away with a fresh Trade Exception of about $4.8 million. Can't see why LA does it though.

However, I wonder if LA would do the deal if it was Juwan and Rybo for..........Kwame???? We tack on another $1 million or so on to our salary but Kwame's contract is one year shorter than Juwan's. Next year, he becomes a $9 million expiring deal. Wonder if LA would bite on that deal? Yeah, Kwame is overpaid and a lunkhead. This deal is all about moving out from under Juwan a year early and having Kwame's contract as an expiring asset to be able to use in trade next year, and get some backup 5 minutes out of him this year. Besides, when Sura retires in a month or two, we will lose his $3.8 million anyways.

Wasn't Kwame the #1 up-and-coming surprise player in the NBA in some article posted a couple of weeks ago?

Our own Chuck Hayes was number 7 or 8...

This is strictly about Juwan for Mihm. Mckie and bowen are simply filler parts that would be cut. For the Rockets it's a no brainer. They get out of JHo's nasty contract for an expiring contract. Anything Mihm gives them on the court is a bonus. So you have to ask your self do the Lakers really want to take on JHO and his bigger contract. He's got 3 more years and he is already slow. He does bring an above average middle offensive game but not much else. So I would say unless Phil Jackson is in love with JHo or sees some way he could fit in the triangle, the answer is no trade.

I thought this deal was supposed to go down a few months ago per an insider that posted on this board and a multi-page thread.
