You can tell the Brewers have nothing to lose, letting an .048 hitting pitcher swing away on the first 2 pitches and then try to bunt the third. 4-0 NOW DD
Ironically, in an article previewing the series, several Milwaukee players said they owe it to Houston to play hard, and try to win these games... then you see Davis work on some swings, and its pretty evident that all these teams are going to do whatever they want to do. But, I like the 4-0 lead!
I can't believe the Cards announcers are still questioning the theory of "baseball momentum"... especially after what happened to them in the playoffs last year. "We just hit a huge HR... you figure all the momentum is on our side...?!?" Yea... see game 6 and Roy.
Momentum is only as good as your next days starting pitcher.... If we somehow complete the miracle and get into the playoffs, we would have to be considered a massive threat with our pitching staff and the playoff experience. DD
Why do you suppose they felt they owe it to Houston to play hard...or is that just a "professional" thing to do... like they'd do the same if they were playing us.
Plus I think the Astros have had plenty of season-saving potential momentum swinging games/plays only to end up losing another 3 or 4 in a row this year. It's all about matchups.
Are they catatonic in STL yet, or what? Mo is a very selective man and can switch off in an eyelash. When the Brews came out swinging, Mo sees better head to ATL where a legitimate playoff contender is the Stros baby! Need more runs though, STL has a good hitting lineup and not likely to get shutout though i wouldnt complain if they did.
The Brewers are getting better so are the Bucs. That's why this division is starting to tighten up except for the hopeless Scrubs.
I'm so glad the Astros played and won earlier...that's gotta be having an effect on the players having to stare at that on the outfield scoreboard.
particularly since pedro may be on the shelf for the first round...and is talking about how he might be more effective as a reliever.
I think it was just in a "professional" manner... they don't like us more than the Cards or anything. They did reference how they came up and knocked us out in 2003, where they played spoiler to perfection... maybe they "owe" us for that?!?
Its all about pitching... the Bucs' have been hampered by the lack of development of Oliver Perez, and the Brewers have been hampered by Ben Sheets injury problems (despite the big contract). Marquis is done... 2 innings pitched... even Hirsh did better than that! BOOOOO says the "best fans in baseball." Its all about pitching.
