Link to CNN story I don't think it's suppose to work this way... excerpt: HONG KONG, China -- A senior Tibetan official says the Chinese government will decide on a successor for the Dalai Lama. But such an appointment flies in the face of the spiritual leaders prediction that his reincarnation will be found outside China.
somewhere Thomas Jefferson is breaking out in a cold sweat. I can't wait until the China defenders come on this thread and tell us all how China really isn't as bad as well all think....we're just not smart enough to see that. Oh..ok...well the next time the government wants to tell me who the next pastor of my church is, let me know. Thanks.
As far as I know the Dalai Lama isn't "chosen" but rather found, tested, and confirmed by religious leaders. Only China would attempt to install a puppet into one of the most sacred religious positions in the world. That's wonderful.
That is correct. It is a fairly long and complicated process and the Dalai Lama has to DIE FIRST. It goes against everything Buddhism stands for, period. His position wasn't political until China tried to have him killed and he was forced into exile.
Has anyone ever claimed that China is not mean to Tibet? I guess that is why all those dumb kids started the "Free Tibet" movement.
I can't help it that I am always correct. You don't know how my superior intellect torments me. How about a little compassion?
