I wouldn't bet on the Yankee Group, Goldman Sachs, Forbes, or the like for research...

Yeah, that was another reason why I didn't put much faith in that analysis. I guess if the Wii does 11M here, it could do 15-20M in Japan (think he said something about the Wii being a hit there), and maybe 10-15M in Europe (not sure if he thought they'd be more like NA or Japan), that could put the Wii at 35M-45M WW (which is ~2 times better than what the GC put up...think it is around SNES status). Wouldn't be bad, but I think the GC had more than 11M sold here, and I think the Wii will do a little better at the very least (maybe more like 15-20M, like Japan...so more like 50M-60M WW).

For some reason, a couple of analysts are still focused more on Sony and Microsoft when it comes to predicting who will sell the most by 2011 or so. I think the Wii has the most potential of the 3, and that could easily help it take the #1 spot. Then again, it seems like things can go in any direction (in favor of Sony, MS, or Nintendo), so no telling how the numbers will play out.
