I don't think he can keep up and effectively guard the better 2's in this league

and I don't think offesensively he is a 2 because it looks like he can't create his own shot or nor does he have a quick release

so if he's a three, why do we need to trade gay with his potential to be at least josh howard, prince or even marion and swift for tmac's backup..

or is tmac going to 2 and chase opposing teams sgs around?

or is he the 3 pt shooting four we need?

and cd and jvg use his defense as a justification, didn't jvg say get some one who can score and teach him defense..

I think he's more of a 3. Of course, matchups will determine which is best however.

The better question is ....what can postion can Battier play.

Hey can play the 2/3/4 (4 in certain situations)

    natural 3

    Uh, nice poll ;)

But seriously, think of it more like Dallas. Forget about labelling everyone & pidgeonholing them into a position. There's Marquis Daniels, Jerry Stackhouse, Josh Howard, even to a lesser extent Adrian Griffin & Devin Harris. They're all close in size. And they play to their strengths.

Depending on matchups, TMac & Battier can BOTH be anywhere between a SG/SF/PF ... does it really matter?

Battier is a 3/4. Battier is our "ranging shooting 4 man."

Battier pushes Juwan Howard to the bench/trade block.

The Rockets STILL need a sidekick to Tmac at the 2/3. A SG with length. And we need Mike James back.
