    so informed by a poster on realgm.com

    Lots of present and former NBA players live and train in Houston in the off-season. This doesn't have to mean anything at all in regards to the Rockets. Avery Johnson and Mario Elie will be spotted around Houston in the offseason too. That isn't because the Rockets are going to hire either them. It's because they both live here.

    I wouldnt read too much into it yet unless it was obvious Van Gundy was on the hot seat. A lot of NBA players spend a lot of time here in Houston in the offseason. I've seen Ron Artest several times over the last few summers.
