Leaked marketing info for some new games from Sony (GT4 Online, GOW2, Killzone PSP)

    It looks Eurogamer has obtained quite a bit of info regarding some new games from Sony for the PS2 and PSP. Here's some of the info:
    GT4 Online Edition
    God of War 2

    One of the only reasons I think I might try to buy a PS3 is for GOW and GOW2.. I dont have a PS2 and if PS3 will play some old PS2 games I think I'll really end up wanting one when they come out..

    I'm wondering if these were really "leaked" or just tossing out some meat to satisfy those of us getting annoyed at Sony for its lack of PS3 info

    I'm just wondering what enhancements the PS3 will offer, if any. I'm assuming that it might offer something like 720p with extra AA, like the 360 BC. I'd probably prefer seeing God of War 2 on the PS3 instead of the PS2, but that might be good enough for now...or uh...2007 actually.

    I wonder if Sony has many more PS2 titles in development for 2007 or later. If they do, these games and a $99 PS2 might be big money-makers Sony, despite the PS3 already being out at the time.

    I also wonder how involved David Jaffe will be on GOW2. The info mentions that Sony Santa Monica will be doing the game, so I imagine it will be the same team for the most part, but I don’t know if Jaffe will be as involved since he’s working on a new PSP game. I might be wrong though (hope so). I guess if worse comes to worse, at least the same team is doing the sequel.

    That's a possibility. I do believe that there is a Playstation event for retailers coming up soon (like 2/27 IIRC). That plus the release date for GT4 Online may suggest that Sony may have been preparing to make these announcements pretty soon. Whether or not they were leaked on purpose or not, I don't know.

    Whatever the hell happen to the PS3 only convention at the end of Febuary? Now i'm hearing there will be one at the end of march...damn these delays!

    That's what I want to know. An "insider" a while back said that they would have the event on the 24th, so I'll probably wait until then before I completely give up on the show. FWIW, there did appear to be some "movement" within SCEI earlier in the month, but I think it was all internal stuff, nothing for the public.

    As for March, the only things off the top of my head that I know about are DevStation, which is for developers only (and they have to sign NDAs IIRC), and the Game Developers Conference (GDC) near the end of March (want to say around March 21st for some reason). Phil Harrison (head of SCE WW studios) is supposed to give a keynote IIRC, and I imagine that he will definitely mention something about the PS3, although it might be intended more for developers than for gamers.

    Either way, more waiting to do. :(

    The future...which given the US sales from January (not to mention in Japan), should be the very near-future. :)

    dang rc cola you must love those video games i havent seen anyone jump on game info the way you do. i havent owned a system since the genesis over 10 years ago. my parents gave it away when i moved out to college years ago i missed it so bad. i actually bought yesterday a modded xbox (not 360) so i can play the roms on my tv and use it as a media pc for xvids (like r2k's ;) )

    any recommendations on decent xbox games? i mean know the major ones like halo and all but something that is like sonic etc/

    speaking of price drop, when is GOW's price going to drop... last i checked it was still $50, same for the warriors.

    I can't think of anything that's a lot like Sonic, or at least like the Sonic from the Genesis days. A lot of the great Xbox games tend to be more Western-type games, such as a Halo, Splinter Cell, Prince of Persia, Fable, KOTOR, Chronicles of Riddick, GTA, etc. Don't know why, but the only games I can think of at the moment that are a little more about platforming are like Psychonauts and Beyond Good and Evil (sort of). I'm sure there are others, but I can't think straight at the moment. I'm sure some of the other Xbox owners can give some recommendations.
    I don't know when they'll drop the price, but this place is selling the game for $30:
