Not sure how big UT still is on this board, but here are some new screens from UT2K7 (assuming this is the PC version):

(I can change the screens to links if there is a problem)

And while we're on the topic of UE3.0/Epic games, there's also a long gameplay clip of Gears of War (for the Xbox 360) available for download at FileFront:
    http://files.filefront.com/gearsofwar_zerohourwmv/;4466258;;/fileinfo.html
It is about 14 minutes long (~148MB), but VERY impressive. In case that's too big for you, here it is divided into 2 pieces and cropped IIRC (haven't downloaded these personally):

    http://www.gamersreports.com/video.php?id=1134509101&g=396&ex=avi(~40MB)

So 2 very impressive games from Epic to look forward to in 2006.

edit: Changed screens to links since they annoyed me. :)

    Good lard...

Time for me to trade in a new vid card. A 6800GT doesn't look to be enough.

Is it me or are games starting to look cartoony again?

Maybe it's the CG movies messing with my head....

Might be due to the engine, which is being used in a lot of next-gen games. UE3.0 is awesome, but it does tend to look a bit cartoony, much like the Doom 3 engine's "plastic" look. Not all games using the engine suffer from it (Bioware's RPG comes to mind), but a lot of them do...especially Epic's own games (duh!).

edit: Ok, that's going to get annoying (one LONG line of text for posts). I'm going to change the screens to links.
edit2: Yea! No more horizontal scrolling. :)

Maybe its just me, but UT07 looks almost identical to GOW as far as the graphic goes...IF you didn't know the name of the game, you would think they are from the same game! SUre they use the same engine, but I would think the art direction should be a little different. Look at the character in UT07, it has the same exegeratted character model in GOW with huge guns.

The only difference I see is that with UT07, its a true FPS and doesn't use the behind the back camera in GOW similiar to RE4. While GOW will probally have the better single player experience, UT07 was sappose to have some of the best on-line feature ever with 40+character and a ton of automobile to ride in. Either way, I look forward to both games.

I agree that there are a lot of similarities, although they're from the same engine, same developer (with similar genres), and probably similar release dates, so that's to be expected. That said, I'm not quite sure if I'd say they looked exactly the same. From the one UT2K7 gameplay video I have, it seems to have more colors and lights, while GOW seems to have a lot of darkness combined with dull colors. Of course, the two have different styles of play as well (fast-paced FPS vs slow-paced "2nd person" shooter), or at least that's how I look at it (more of a design difference than a graphical one though). They might start looking a bit more different closer to their release dates.
