My sis went caming this past weekend with Conroe and the dogs got ticks. I've researched it only and have tried what they said to do. But I was wondering if you guys have some better input.

We've tried the cigarette thing, the heating up a paperclip. Tried to pull them out with tweezers. To no avail.

Looks like we might have to take one of them to the vet. Which sucks, because of $$$.

I know you're not supposed to but my girlfriend and her dad always pull ticks off their dogs with their bare hands.

put vaseline on them, peanut butter, alcohol.... they should back out of the dogs skin and then you can kill them.

BTW if you're trying to pull the ticks out gently, it's not going to work. You gotta yank them sunumabitches out.

I grew up in a state park and we had this problem alot. We used to use a match that you lit and immediately blew out. Put the still glowing end on the tick as close to the dog's skin as you can.

I second that.. keep a blob of it on the tick and if it's still alive it will pull out
