Wow...Sony sure does know how to make powerful ads: http://www.playstation.coloribus.com/index.html I should note that some of these are pretty graphic. I'm not sure if I'd call them NSFW or something like that, but some of them may not be for the squeamish. Yeah, they're that crazy.
I guess maybe they could be trying to symbolize the PlayStation brand or something like that...although half of them don't seem to do that either. Seems more like bizarre artwork than ads (for anything, let alone a video game console). Oh yeah, and if anyone's wondering, yeah, I stole this from GAF like 10-15 minutes ago.
That's not from playstation.com, just some nuts putting up some weird images. Edit: OK, some seem to be legit, like mag scans, dunno about all of them.
Yeah, I guess I can't vouch for all of them, but I wouldn't be surprised if they were all legit. I remember some the ads, and I know some of the older PS commercials (especially from SCEE) were just as bizarre as most of these pics. Doesn't seem like too much of a leap to assume that Sony made them from what I could tell. Whoever made them (either Sony or someone else), the point stands that these are some weird ads. The forums over at Gaming-Age.com (GAF for the forums). It is a great site for video game news, much like this site is for Rockets info. Because of that, I often "steal" some of the thread ideas over there.
GAF is a great site for news, for the most part, but their BBS is somewhat lacking. Those ads, though....ugh. I'm all for art/creativity, but those are just idiotic.
Interesting. I did not know, until now, that my life-long dream is to see what would happen if a large firecracker was set off in a stationary cheetah's ass. Also, on that first page, is that partially naked chick "doing" a circular block of flesh?
So, from the looks of those, it looks like you'll be able to put your own face in the new Grand Theft Auto.
