I barely started carving out pumpkins a couple years ago (we don't make these Jack-O-Lanterns in MEXICO, you know), when I first picked up a pattern book from Pumpkin Masters. This year, I bought four artificial pumpkins at Garden Ridge and three small natural ones-three on purpose so you don't start with your puns--from Wal-Mart.

Since I had three, I said, why not the big three logos?
Here is a picture of the natural pumpkins in my garage with candles that almost didn't fit:

Here is a picture of ONE of the artificial ones, and my youngest picked "stars and the stripes, daddy, please" as the pattern:

Inside you will see the candy as my daughter used it to collect what little she got from one block's treats. I didn't do anything else with the other three but I will next year. My daughters pick the patterns, I carve them.

Last year I made Frankie holding his bride and the same stars and stripes.

What were YOUR Jack-O-Lanterns this year and years past, and what will you do next year?

My girlfriend carved a nice Napoleon Dynamite. This was my first pumpkin to ever carved, so I chose Snoopy. It wasn't so good. I'll post pics once I get them.

Yeah, looks good, great definition, but my three were smaller which required much smaller cuts and carvings to work with, you know? :p Besides, how dare you put a happy face next to the TEXANS? ;)

That makes me laugh, and it's just because there was a thread about it.

I was 8 in 1977 and did a KISS jackolantern. I also did a Gene with a quarter slice of a big red pepper as his tongue. I won first place in a school contest. The next year I rigged it with a can of hair spray to breath fire and got suspended for 2 weeks.

    Ahh good times.

I didn't carve any, but I play World of Warcraft and they had a competition and the winners and runner ups were pretty damn impressive... you carvers will probably enjoy them even if you don't have any idea what the game is or who the developers (Blizzard) are.

This was the winner was of Ragnaros which is an end-game boss.
