Everytime the "mind reader" is reloaded, the numbers and the symbols they match up with change. As far as the equation, not sure exactly how it works (this has been posted and discussed here before), but the end result will always match up with the same symbol no matter which number you start out with. EXAMPLE: Before clicking on the crystal ball .....do the same equation with several different numbers and then look at the chart .......youll notice that all the symbols next to the result are the same ...thats how the crystal ball knows because no matter what # you start out with, its going to match the symbol that will appear when you click on the ball
here are some examples using random #s: 99 - (9+9) = 81 71 - (7+1) = 63 66 - (6+6) = 54 23 - (2+3) = 18 49 - (4+9) = 36 Before you click the ball, you'll notice that 81, 63, 54, 18 and 36 all have the same symbol on the list.

Using the formula that the trick uses, you always end up with some multiple of 9. All the program has to do is make the symbols for those multiples the same.
