Okay, this most likely is a dumb question, but.....

When you buy a Pre-Order of something, does the money paid for the pre-order go towards the overall price? I bought a presell box for a game (battle Field 2) from Best Buy for 10 bucks....does that go towards the total cost, so that I pay $10 less than the sticker price when the game comes out?

Or did I just buy a "free with pre-order" $10 pair of Logitech headset?

most likely it goes towards the game. it's like you paid for "dibs".

Be careful though: if you preorder and decide not to get it later, you might have lost your money. I did with the PSP. I preordered it in january ($55 down) and decided not to purchase it until better games comes out. I ask them for a refund they said 'But sir! You have Gamestop credit! You can use it on ANYTHING in the store!!' I'm like look man I just want my money back. I then had to call their 'corporate office' and left a message. It's been 3 days and no reply.

That sucks. I'm just not sure what to do. I guess I should bring the reciept and perhaps pre-order box to the store whenI go to by the game on the 21st.

Anyone else looking forward to this game? It looks damn amazing.

Yeah, I'm looking forward to it, although I doubt my PC will be able to handle it. Still excited about it though.

Which reminds me, I read the game went gold today. In fact, there's even a new trailer out at GameTrailers:

Maybe you already saw it, which would explain why you made this thread. ;)

And since the PSP has already been mentioned, I remember reading about a PSP version of this game. I bet that would be awesome.

I'm not sure how Best Buy works, but I know at video game stores (EB for ex.), when you 'preorder' something it comes off the total cost of the game.

If you preordered a 49.99 game and put 5 bucks down, instead of paying 54.11 when you pick it up it will be 49.11; 5 bucks off the final price.

The bonuses, like the headset, just are something companies sometimes give away for preordering.

I ordered a game stop game from Amazon, luckily they have not charged my card, but they never sent it after three months, and never responded to emails or calls. I looked at their amazon ratings and they have got some negative feedback. Very frustrating.

yep, I heard about it going gold. :) I read about it on the mainsite. Going to check out that trailer now. thanks for the link.

EDIT: That trailer was AWESOME! I can't wait till my summer session 1 is over and the game is out. :D

Thanks for the info guys. I guess, all I have to do is bring in the reciept to prove I bought the pre-order. I was wondering if there was something they had to do to keep track of it....guess the reciept is enough. I've never pre-ordered anything before. I can't wait for this game.
